Become a professional diver

Course Overview

You are going to work closely with a PADI Instructor. Through knowledge development sessions, water-skill exercises and workshops plus hands-on practical assessments, you will develop your techniques and your leading skills.

Your instructor will give you all the support and knowledge necessary to become a professional diver.

  • 18 years or older
  • Rescue Diver
  • 40 logged dives
  • CPR and First Aid certification within 14 months
  • Medical clearance to dive
  • 60 hours aprox.
  • 1 month if you do it intensively.
  • You can do it at the weekends during the summer.

As a dive professional, you’ll want to have all your basic scuba equipment, including a dive computer, a dive knife, and at least two surface signaling devices. During practical skills exercises, like underwater mapping and search and recovery, you’ll use a compass, floats, marker buoys, lift bags and slates. Your PADI Instructor may suggest additional gear that will be useful throughout your diving career.

Help PADI Instructors with students.
Teach and certify PADI Skin Divers.
Teach PADI Discover Snorkelling programmes.
Teach Discover Scuba Diving programmes.
Conduct PADI Scuba Review programmes for certified divers.
Lead certified divers in Discover Local Diving experiences
Teach Emergency First Response programmes after correctly finishing an Emergency First Response Instructor course.
